Using dual monitors with Zoom


This guide is to help you keep your Zoom meetings organized while they're happening. Whether you're presenting or listening to a presentation you can enable dual monitor options to keep participants in one screen and your own presentation (or another's) in the other. Let's walk through it.

Prerequisites: 
  • Zoom desktop client for Windows, Mac, or Linux
  • Dual monitors enabled for your system 
  • CPU: i5 Quad Core (or higher) | i5 + Duo Core (or higher) 2GHz+

The Academy strongly encourages you to keep your meeting participants on the monitor where your webcam is. This is to ensure more engagement and attentiveness during the meeting. There have been suggestions submitted to increase more eye contact and create a personable environment during Zoom meetings. 


Steps: 

1. Sign into Zoom
2. Click the settings button on the top right



3. General > Use dual monitors 



4. Verify the box is checked. 

5. To move the windows go to the Share Screen menu > change window size with screen sharing to Maximize window




If the window is already fullscreen, double click or click the ESC key to get the window to exit fullscreen.

Using dual-monitor displays in a Meeting

After joining or starting a meeting, you will see a Zoom window on each monitor. The meeting controls and participant's video will display on one monitor, while the other monitor will just display participants' video.

When you start sharing your screen, you can continue to view participant's video on the other monitor.
