Training And Conference Room Equipment

Please do not make alterations to any of the locations and/or settings of equipment  in the Riverside and San Diego Conference and Training Rooms. Altering the  equipment location or settings impacts the ability for the next person using the  room to utilize the equipment properly. In addition, it complicates and/or demands  more time to the troubleshooting process simply because we don’t know what was  changed or if it’s an equipment problem. While we can troubleshoot and resolve  each issue, just know for auditory or visual problems we at times are  troubleshooting four devices that work together to make the one sound or video. In  frequent cases, troubleshooting these four devices to get you either audio or video  takes longer then the time you’ve allotted us to resolve the issue.

So What Are The Four Devices To Make Audio Or Video?

To Make An Image Appear On The Screen:

- Source device and settings (computer, tablet, DVD/VCR player, document  camera, camera system or any other display item)

- Receiver and/or switch

- Projector

- Cables

To Make Sound:

- Source device and settings (computer, DVD/VCR player, camera system or  any auditory item)

- Receiver or Smart board,

- Speakers and/or microphones

- Cables

What Troubleshooting Can You Do?

The only troubleshooting you should do is turned the device off, wait 10 seconds,  and turn it back on.   Restarting the device resolves most hardware and some software problems.  Everything else should be taken care of by IT staff.

How To Contact IT Staff When There Is A Problem In The Training Or Conference  Rooms:

- Call our office main phone first:  San Diego (619) 594-2060. Or if near the IT  office stop by.

- If no response, immediately call Preston’s cell phone: (858) 609-9205

Recommendations

If you have recommendations for equipment or settings contact Preston Robinson  via email or ticket system.

Non-Academy Equipment And Locations

When using non-Academy equipment at non-Academy conference or training  rooms, Academy IT staff can only provide you with advice that does not alter any of  the equipment at non-Academy facilities.  Please contact someone at that facility’s  first. Otherwise, check out a full set of equipment from the Academy prior to your  event.
